SFM Newsletter April 17th

Happy Easter Everyone!  How about that rain!! Very grateful for any amount of relief we can get!

Yes, indeed.. there is a farmers market this Sunday with lots of holiday treats from local farmers and vendors.. And yes!  There will be music with special guests Sonoma Bluegrass on stage!! So bring a friend.. bring the family and stay awhile.

 

Join us as we continue to explore ways to make our market more sustainable.  Please remember to bring your own reusable bags whenever you can. It does make a difference!

 

Back this week Cliff with Ma & Pa’s Garden will be at the market this Sunday with his famous tomatoe plants , Red Farm, and if the weather cooperates.. Stony Point will be back with organic strawberries.. fingers crossed! Don’t forget the Flowers!!

 

Look for more farmers and other vendors returning to the market in the coming weeks including JES plant based foods .. there will be some new faces too!! Don’t miss Zweibel’s  bakery pop up stepping in for Dominique so that she can take a much deserved break.

 

Bring your favorite kitchen and gardening tools this Sunday.  Edgeworks will be back streetside.. Now at the market each and every Sunday for all of your sharpening needs.

 

To all of our CalFresh Customers.  We  are back to our usual $10 match.  $10 gets you $20.

You can be a part of the sustainable food movement!  Plant an edible garden!! There are lots of veggie and herb starts at the market!!

 

Ok..you really don’t want to miss this.. spring veggies are here!! expect to find asparagus, spring garlic, spinach,  arugula, lettuces, microgreens, tot soi, bok choy, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, napa and other cabbages, salad radishes, turnips, carrots, beets,  leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, broccolis, cauliflowers, red onions, winter squashes,  herbs and so much more…

 

There’s still time get your citrus fix.. tangerines, mandarins, grapefruits,  navel and cara cara oranges, blood oranges, lemons and limes.  It’s also the beginning of the berry season.. with strawberries from Laguna Farm and maybe Stony Point too.  And, Yes there will be DATES!

 

Enjoy farmer inspired products like organic nut butters, almonds and walnuts.  You will also find meats, eggs, cheeses, olive oil, wines, vinegar, dried fruits, olives, honey, herbal teas, jams, hot sauces and pesto, breads, pastries and other homemade treats are just some of what you will find at the market.
