SFM Newsletter February 27th

A huge thank you to School of Rock for playing the market last Sunday!  You even managed to get the sun to come out!  :)   We welcome everyone to another farmers market community event.  Please join us this week as local favorites As the Crow Flies will be back on stage!  Make sure to invite a friend or family and boogie away those winter time blues!

 

Look for other special events coming soon.. like, the SF Scottish Fiddlers on March 6th and Earth Month in April!!

 

Make sure to bring your favorite kitchen and gardening tools this Sunday.  Edgeworks will be back streetside.. Now at the market every Sunday for all of your sharpening needs.

 

Mi Fiesta, Mexican cuisine and Oyster Creek foraged mushrooms will be in their usual spaces.

 

To all of our dedicated CalFresh Customers!  We continue to offer a match of up to $15 to spend on local fruits and vegetables!! $15 will get you $30. Thank you for your dedication and support of local farmers!!

 

And to all of you plant lovers..  Get your all of your  veggie, edible flower and herb starts and plenty of good gardening advice to tackle your latest project.

 

It’s crockpot soup season!!  Find everything you need for a nourishing soup or stew here at the market including fresh locally grown veggies.. spinach and fava greens,  lettuces, microgreens, spinach, tot soi, bok choy, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, napa and other cabbages, salad radishes, turnips, carrots, beets,  leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, broccolis, cauliflowers, red onions, winter squashes,  herbs and so much more…

 

Citrus Season continues as we slowly move towards berry season you will find tangerines, mandarins, grapefruits, oro blanco, navel and cara cara oranges, blood oranges, lemons and limes.  And, yes! It’s true.. strawberries from Laguna Farm.

 

Don’t Forget..  Beautiful spring flowers now available from your favorite farmers!!

 

Enjoy farmer inspired products like organic nut butters, almonds and walnuts.  You will also find meats, cheeses, olive oil, wines, vinegar, dried fruits, olives, honey, herbal teas, jams, hot sauces and pesto, breads, pastries and other homemade treats are just some of what you will find at the market.  A New Crop of organic almonds and walnuts are here!!
