Dearest Farmers Market Community.  Welcome back for another beautiful fall day at the Sebastopol Farmers Market.  Joining us this Sunday, we have a special guest Mai Nguyen, ‘Farmer Mai’, at the market to talk about local grain production and an opportunity for community members to invest in a local flour share.  We are incredibly lucky to have her!  You may have heard of and participated in farm CSA produce boxes.  This is a way to support a local grain farmer and an opportunity to have the most amazing fresh milled flour for baking.. just in time for the holidays!!  Did you know that most small farmer grain production is grown with just the annual rainfall?  Photo Credit Ashby Marshall

Back at the market this week..  Jurg with Olivino and Terra Savia will be back with organic olive oil and wines and Yes! Princess Aisha and Bodega Pastures too!!

Playing music for the market this week, please welcome local guitarist, Dave Hamilton.

Invest in your garden..  plant starts are still available for consideration as you transition to a fall/ winter garden.

Be prepared to be amazed.. there are still plenty of locally produced summer favorites including sweet and hot peppers, cucumbers and heirloom tomatoes, tomatillos not to mention.. lettuces, microgreens, spinach, tot soi, bok choy, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, napa and other cabbages, salad radishes, turnips, carrots, beets,  leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, broccolis, cauliflowers, green beans, red onions, garlic, summer and winter squashes, eggplants, herbs and so much more…

Antique apple and pear season is here with citrus season on the way!!   Bella Ridge is back with local apples and pears.  There’s still some time to enjoy late season peaches.. enjoy grapes, figs,  pomegranates and persimmons too!! And, yes!  Dates!

Don’t Forget the Flowers!

Look for farmer inspired products like organic nut butters, almonds and walnuts.  You will also find meats, cheeses, olive oil, wines, vinegar, dried fruits, olives, honey, herbal teas, jams, hot sauces and pesto, breads, pastries and other homemade treats are just some of what you will find at the market.  The New Crop of Organic Almonds is here!!

We really appreciate your continued support.. we are working hard to keep our market strong and our community programs going.  Please consider donating.  Special thanks for the donations that keep coming in through the market’s GoFundMe campaign.  https://gf.me/u/x3svaq

Thank you for supporting our local small farmers especially now when they need you most.  The drought and extreme temperatures have had a devastating impact. It’s important that we all do our part to save our most precious resources.. water, farmers and locally produced food.

With mask recommendations still in place, please be sensitive to those in our community who are taking extra precautions.  If you don’t have a mask, please give them space.

In Deepest Gratitude we acknowledge the many blessings of gathering in community.
We can’t wait to see you this and every Sunday!

Carla
