SFM Newsletter February 28th

Greetings and welcome to another sunny Sunday at the Sebastopol Farmers Market.  We are excited to share the latest from our local unsung heroes, our local farmers!! I cannot imagine having dinner without them.  We are so very lucky to have the very best of what Sonoma County has to offer.  Be prepared to be inspired!!  Want to learn more about your local farmers and the amazing work they do in order to bring you the best of what’s in season?  Check out the California Small Farm Conference continues through the weekend at https://www.caff.org/2021conferenceschedule/.. It’s FREE!!  Don’t miss the finale this Sunday at 3p when Caiti from Red H and others will be honored for the amazing work that they do.

Want to show your community how much you care?  Please do your part and wear a mask.  It’s an act of love.

Our curbside service is taking a short 2 month break as we wait for our farmers to regroup.  In the meantime, please give us your feedback.  Look for us to be back with the spring berries.

Shop the market this week for everything you need for an amazingly vibrant nutritious nutrient dense farm fresh salad!  Look for lettuces, microgreens, spinach, tot soi, bok choy, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, cabbages, sunchokes, purple daikon radish, burdock root, turnips, carrots, beets, onions, shallots, leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, broccolis, cauliflowers, winter squashes, herbs and so much more.

Get your citrus while you can.. enjoy the most delicious tangerines, lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits.

Look for farmer inspired products like organic nut butters, almonds and walnuts.  You will also find meats, cheeses, olive oil, wines, vinegar, dried fruits, olives, honey, herbal teas, jams, hot sauces and pesto, breads, pastries and other homemade treats are just some of what you will find at the market.

We really appreciate your continued support.. Now that we’re half way through the winter season, we are working hard to keep our market strong and our community programs going.  Please consider donating.  Special thanks for the donations that keep coming in through the market’s GoFundMe campaign.  https://gf.me/u/x3svaq

We love you, Sebastopol. Please wear your masks and socially distance at all times.  All food and drink is to go.  There is no eating or drinking inside the market.  If you are sick, please stay home.

Stay safe, stay strong!

Carla
