SFM Newsletter April 19th

Hello Sebastopol!!  Happy Earth Week Everyone!!  Thank you for joining us this Sunday to celebrate our local farmers and land stewards who tirelessly work with the land to bring us freshly harvested delicious, vibrant, nutrient dense immune boosting fruits and vegetables arriving at the farmers market every Sunday.  The farmers market reminds me of how deeply connected we are to each other and our mother earth!  It’s  been exciting to learn that so many of you have taken the stay at home order as an opportunity to grow your own gardens.  Taking care of the planet is taking care of yourself and others.

Just a reminder that we will still be practicing CDC recommended practices. Please remember physical distancing of 6 feet and please keep your conversations short especially as you walk through the market.  We are working really hard to make the farmers market a place where everyone feels safe to shop.  All vendors will be serving you with gloves and a mask.  We will have wash stations throughout the market.  Please remember to bring a shopping list to make quick selections for shorter lines. :)

As of this weekend, Sonoma County Environmental Health has made it mandatory to wear  a mask or bandana when outside, in public.  Please make sure you wear your face covering at the farmers market this Sunday.  It’s not optional.  Thank you for your cooperation…

Tired of the same old face coverings.. Princess Aisha will be at the market next Sunday with colorful mask options in case you want to upgrade your fashion wardrobe.  ;)

At the market you will find an amazing assortment of mouthwatering veggie offerings like lettuces, microgreens, arugula, spinach, radishes, carrots, beets, cabbages, collards, swiss chard, kales, onions, garlic, potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, broccolis, cauliflowers, herbs and so much more…

Citrus season is still on!  With oranges, tangerines, grapefruits and lemons.

This week marks the beginning of Strawberry Season!!  Stony Point will be back with local organic STRAWBERRIES!  And DATES too!!  :)

Look for veggie and herb starts for your Spring garden and start you edible garden today!

Make sure to look for farmer inspired products including nuts and nut butters, meats, cheeses, olive oil, herbal teas, hot sauces, breads, pastries and pastas, olives, preserves and other homemade treats.  Olivino olive oil and Terra Salvia wines will be back this Sunday!!

Coming soon.. from the eternal optimists
