SFM Newsletter April 12th

Hello Sebastopol Farmers Market Friends.  We are honored to be back this Sunday for the Easter farmers market and are excited to bring you beautiful fresh picked nutrient dense local produce.  We will continue to do our best to create a safe shopping environment for our shoppers, farmers and vendors.  We consider each of you as members of this farmers market family and hope that in moving forward you can help us in our efforts.  Please make sure to distance yourself from others by 6 feet.  Although the goal is physical not social distancing, please keep your conversations brief and at a distance.  Families of more than 2 if you could shop in groups of 2 that would be super helpful for crowd control.  It is more important than ever to leave pathways through the market open so that all can safely pass by.

Remember to bring a shopping list so that you can make your choices quickly to reduce lines and please let the farmer or vendor handle the produce for you.  For your safety, all of the market farmers/vendors will be wearing gloves and mask or bandana and will have their own hand washing station.  No vendor is allowed to come to the market if they are sick.

At the market this week you will find a multitude of deliciousness to choose from with lettuces, microgreens, arugula, spinach, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, radishes, carrots, ASPARAGUS, mushrooms, leeks, shallots, onions, garlic, cauliflowers, broccolis, rutabagas, burdock, potatoes, herbs and much more.

Citrus is still in abundance with cara cara and navel oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits.
Because of the weather, local organic strawberries are still a week away.

If you haven’t already started, it’s a great time to plant a garden.  You will find plenty of vegetable and herb starts at the market.

Make sure to look for farmer inspired products including nuts and nut butters, meats, cheeses, olive oil, herbal teas, hot sauces, breads, pastries and pastas, olives, preserves and other homemade treats.

Lata is back at the market this week with pre-packaged meals to grab and go.
