Dearest Sebastopol Famers’ Market Friends. We are excited to have you join us for a pre- holiday celebration. Need a place to relax and unwind as you go through your Thanksgiving dinner shopping list? We have got you covered. Enjoy the bounty of the season with just about everything you might need to make this the most delicious, stress free holiday experience ever!! And when you finish that list.. make sure to treat yourself to a tasty pastry or lunch option from one of our many food vendors or buy yourself that craft item you’ve had your eye on for the past few weeks. Go ahead, you deserve it. And don’t feel guilty. You are our hero for supporting local farmers and businesses!! You Rock!!
 
On stage this Sunday, we welcome back local folk Americana guitarist/singer Doug Cross!!
 
With the unseasonably warm temperatures, there is a lot to choose from for salads to main dishes you will find.. lettuces, arugula, spinach, micro greens, braising greens, collards, kales, swiss chard, mustard greens, tot soi, pak choy, fennel, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potatoes, summer and winter squashes, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, beets, onions, shallots, burdock, herbs and so much more!!
 
Fruit offerings include antique apples and pears, figs, persimmons, pomegranates, grapes, mandarin tangerines, grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes.
 
Here are a couple of easy salad ideas. Have you ever tried making an apple salad with fennel and walnuts? Super easy!! Chop apples and fennel into bite size pieces add lemon juice and umeboshi vinegar, add walnut pieces, toss and serve. Variation, add arugula or spinach!!
Don’t forget pomegranates and persimmons in your dinner salad for a festive splash of color.
 
Look for local sustainably produced items including nuts, eggs, meats, olive oil, wine, bread, pastries, pasta, apple cider vinegar, tomato sauces and more. If you haven’t noticed, Hector now has sustainably raised beef and for you seafood lovers, both Princess Seafood and Paul’s Smoked Salmon will be back at the market this Sunday!! YES! For real this time!
