Ok, by now most of you have noticed that I haven’t been at the market…

Eat Local Zero Waste Campaign
The Sebastopol Farmers’ Market invites you to participate in the October Zero Waste Eat Local
Challenge . October is a time of abundance and the perfect time to focus on eating local and
committing to a more regenerative resilient life style. We owe it to ourselves, our planet and
our community!
Shopping local is one of the biggest political statements you can make. What
is the percentage of fresh fruits and vegetables you buy from the farmers’ market? Could you
make the commitment to buy all of your produce direct from local farmers at the farmers’
market or at local farm stands for one month? Find out how easy it can be. Help reduce your
carbon footprint by bringing reusable bags and containers.
Look for the compost stations in the food court of the market. We are gearing up to become a ZeroWaste market but, we need yourhelp!! Confused about what goes where? Checkout the colorful signs above the receptacles.
On October 20th , join us at the Sebastopol Farmers’ Market, 10-1:30p for a special Zero Waste
event co-sponsored by 350 Sonoma and Recology for a special ZeroWaste event at the market.
Guests will include Straus Family Creamery, Community Market, CAFF/Farmers’ Guild, FiberShed, Pacific BioChar, Master Gardeners, Matt Powers, author and permaculturalist, Time Bank and many more..
Look for demos, talks, plastic river installation, activities for kids and adults, music, a ZeroWaste raffle and more..
Learn about what you can do to make a difference. The time is NOW!
