SFM Newsletter October 4th

Hello Farmers Market Fans.. yes!! There will be a market this Sunday.  Although the endless season of fires continues, we are thankful for the promise of relief from the heat.  Market farmers and food and craft vendors will be out in force for this first Sunday in October.. say what? Wait.. where did September go?  Not to worry, the market still feels like summer with a lot of your summer favorites.  So, marvel at the beautiful bounty Sonoma County farmers have to offer.  We look forward to having you join us.

Too busy to shop the market, afraid your favorite something will be gone before you get to the market.  Check out the market online store by 3p on Saturday for curbside pickup from 11a-1:30p on Sunday. Each week there’s something new.

Have you ever seen so many gorgeous vibrant nutrient dense vegetables including lettuces, microgreens, arugula spinach, tot soi, bok choy, mustard greens, kales, collards, swiss chard, cabbages, carrots, beets, onions, leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, broccolis, cauliflowers, summer and winter squashes, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, peppers hot and sweet, herbs and so much more… the hardest part is choosing and no.. it’s not too early to go pumpkin shopping.  🙂

Yes.. it’s full on apple season.  Find out why those antique apples are the bees knees.. the talk of the town.  But, that’s not all.. you will still find peaches, strawberries, raspberries, melons, figs, pears, grapes and more!!  And.. Jewel Dates is back with fresh (not dried) organic Medjool dates!

It’s the perfect time to pick up plants for your fall garden.   And don’t forget the FLOWERS!!

Look for farmer inspired products like organic nuts and nut butters with the new crop of almonds and red walnuts.  This year’s English walnut crop is just weeks way, meats, cheeses, olive oil, olives, honey, herbal teas, jams, hot sauces and pestos, breads, pastries, pastas and other homemade treats.

Now more than ever, we could use your help as we continue to struggle to keep our market strong and our community programs going.  Please consider donating.  Special thanks for the donations that keep coming in through the market’s GoFundMe campaign.

Please help us to keep the market open by wearing your masks and social distancing at all times

All food and drink is to go.  There is no eating or drinking inside the market.

Thank you all for your continued support of this local market, local farmers and entrepreneurs.

Blessing to All.  Take care and be strong.
